Horror of Death

“in horror of death, I took to the mountains–

Again and again I meditated on the uncertainty

of the hour of death

Capturing the fortress of the deathless

unending nature of mind.

Now all fear of death is over and done.”

  1. This captures my experience in Decorah, after the blow to the head. 23, no job, and thinking that death was imminent, without a chance to live my life. My life had been intellectual achievement, and now no intellect. I found great comfort in the realization that intellect or not, dead or not, the mind would be unending.

  2. I find this very comforting.
